Travel time!

We leave tomorrow morning and head to the airport for a great trip to visit family in England. Kids are super excited to see everyone again. As we sat down and ate our "last dinner in Panama" together (It was chicken curry) for a year, the kids are looking forward to a change. Gerbils are both healthy and doing good after one of them was diagnosed with fractured teeth (which got removed and have grown back quickly). The bags are packed!!!! It should be a fun 3 weeks with lots of adventures in the works.....but let's first get through airtravel and jetlag.

December 3, 2017

Hello!!! Follow me on our crazy journey to take a year long sabbatical to Robie Creek, Idaho after 13 years in Panama City, Panama (yes the Central American country with the canal!) with our family including 3 kids, 2 dogs and 2 cats. Are we crazy? Yes! But I'm ready for a year long change and for a year of seasons and Idaho is perfect. The plan is to be in Idaho around the end of July next year. And our kids will get to experience a US public school for the first time. They will return back to their Panama International IB school when we return.
Our countdown until Christmas and our holiday travel begins! We are very excited and saw that there is now snow on the ground. This will make for the kids first white Christmas (and mine too). They've seen snow, but never at Christmas.  My husband and I always agreed to spend Christmas in Panama for the fact that we just don't enjoy holiday travel, crazy airports and figuring out which family do we spend time with? So Panama is always where we've stayed. Growing up in Florida I remember seeing snow flurries once around Christmas, but never with snow on the ground. We've bought the gloves, jackets and ski pants. I'll need the kids to try on waterproof boots when we arrive. That's one of those things that I just can't guess on with sizing. Nothing worse than cold and wet feet right?
I've started the process with the animal veterinarians. They have assured me that they can help with all paperwork that will be necessary to get them to the States. Jenna got a rabies shot that is good for 3 years. We are taking all our pets with us to Idaho. I've already checked to see where the USDA is in Boise and figuring out the crate size for the dogs. The only thing that worries me is that Jenna's crate has to be big because she's such a long dog. She's not even very heavy but her long size makes her increase in size.
Thanks for reading. I'll keep positing more updates!!
